      honestly, just being the first to build something and document it like this should be enough to reserve any potential patents in your name. This way you wouldn't see good people who don't care about patenting something forced to do it anyway (and enforce it) just to protect themselves.

      It's electric, which severely limits the range this thing can go. It'll never do off-grid because the battery pack cannot be large enough to get distance and prevent this thing from sinking into the mud. If each tire has a motor, it's going to suck that battery dry quicker than a *Insert tired simile here*

      Try telling that to Nasa specs that also include reverse as a must have. It’s interesting idea, not much more. Even just large tires are far more versatile and offer more possible terrains you can cross. By deflating large tires you can also easily go over mud, sand, etc. Try going over mud or sand with this contraption and you’d find out why it isn’t practical. Videos showing only successes are always deceiving. When you have to succeed with a list of parameters it’s always far harder than it seems, compared to just making stuff for fun, and showing only the parts where the idea was successful.

    It seems like individual wheels take a lot of pressure and weight at times so they need to be super durable. Not sure if small electric motor can handle that much stress long term but it's a really cool concept 😎

      I don't like that JerryRig guy anymore. Makes sure his channel is super kid-friendly, then randomly pushes hard political messages.     this thing looks like its falling apart but it seems quite sturdy going over all these rocks something even regular atv wheels have issues i have an atv and its not uncommon having to swap the tires because a sharp rock got enbedded in the rubber it going over that log though like it was nothing is insane this thing was expertly made good job

      Actually it should be extremely durable. Could possibly last 30yrs+. All that can really go wrong is the basic controller, switches and the individually powered wheels and suspension may require an occasional replacement/adjustment.
