This is sharp evasion and mobility with good cover guards, head movement, footwork and a lighting pace. The smaller man is at a distinct disadvantage in reach and weight. The big guy is feeding well and they manage range while scrambling. It's training not a fight... They would split each other up if they tried to land punches at this bare knuckle game. I'm sure they could easily step it up a level and start landing punches easy enough though. They hug at the end and no harm done. 👊💀

You are correct so many people post things and show how ignorant they are they can’t distinguish training from fighting if you fight constantly without training you would never last long
Eric Hibler
Күн бұрын
@jc64car Agreed... Playing the long game allows for growth and proper injury management as well. Partners must respect each other's lethality and avoid damaging each other or, they'll end up fighting hurt. 👊💀

Man in the grey shirt was not defending at all he was attacking the whole time. Red shirt would not stop running backwards while he was slapping hands how you going to defend when you can't run and space is limited. Yeah just waste all that fuckin energy 🧐🤔🤨

Its more shodow boxing then pure self defense. It helps to practice keeping distance but the best defence is a strong and explosive attack like palm strikes, kick to the grooing, elbows and then run 🏃🏼♂️🏃🏼♂️🏃🏼♂️ cause he might have buddies waiting for you.

Eventually, the numbers will win.. Once you mitigate one barrage, you can't continue to do so, even in a drill. If you train that way, you will respond that way. I like it though! It's a good skill to learn with respect to distance flow when you have space available. I like the fact they're outside and not in a Studio or Canvas. Hats off to the instructor, I take my students outside as well.

In all fairness if the goal is real life scenarios were its likely "Regular Ass Joe" that's going to press them this might be enough. But yeah they are both screwed if they have to fight anyone with any real skill. Truth is most guys with real skill are not out picking fights though.
dbspaceoditty
11 күн бұрын
@bobbydee30g people confuse sport fighting and self defense. i will defeat any sports fighter 100% of the time if they have to follow what they have learned in sports fighting. i have a lock in my pocket tied to a sock, and knife that can stab through black top. the goal is to survive long enough. not to mention ive cracked multiple skulls and broke many collar bones. these bjj/wrestling guys think you can just shoot for a take down. they assume people lack training. and all you gotta do is check with your knee and they take them self out. the slightest amount of minimal training actually makes the most difference. i think this is why some people think self defense classes for woman actually work. but for men, yeah, learning to cheap shot somebody in the nose or kick them in the balls is a great way to start this encounter.

Hands to the head only work with gloves. The only situation where it's useful in a real fight is if you have already lose and have to reduce the damage while getting hit. In this scenario don't use your hands, use the whole arms to protect as much as possible, the strikes will go through your guard no matter what you do
