@Allan Miller my brother in Christ I will admit that they probably do have a f*****-up head gasket but just because the engine sound like this does not mean it's f***** up I didn't old international sounded pretty closely to this took it to the shop or your four times the only thing that came out of it is that I replaced the power steering pump and the water pump and I've been several cars and trucks since then that sound not too dissimilar from this with no mechanical issues whatsoever

There's absolutely a scenario where he has fixed the problem- head gasket failure, cracked head, cracked sleeve, oil cooler,etc- and flushed the coolant system as best he can and is now using this method to try and get every last drop of oil he can out of the radiator. We don't have near enough info to tell what's going on.

This is awesome if you managed to fix the head gasket using k-seal or the other decent pour in formulas. I actually fixed a head gasket issue after using k-seal, I suppose it depends on the severity and location of the damage on the gasket seals. If I knew this then, I wouldn't have even flushed/drained the radiator on that beater car. Just siphoned as much oil like this video, add coolant/water and keep on going lol

@#StandYourGround well since the oil is in the coolant you would have to assume the coolant isn’t getting into the engine causing bearing damage. And oil in the coolant won’t hurt any components like water pump bearings. Some oil in the cooling system isn’t going to hurt much other then possibly overheating do to the lack of flow but you would have to have a lot of oil in the system

Perfect how to be lazy and incompetent in auto mechanics. Years ago I bought a simple radiator flush tool, a 5/8 tee with a hose barb on the end. How to flush your radiator of oil: Remove thermostat. Install radiator hose barb tool, attach hose to flush tool, remove radiator cap, purge air from system. Put in radiator cleaner, or dishwasher cleaner if you're cheap. Run engine until warm, turn on hose and flush system. Repeat last few steps until clean.

Best way to clean oil out of a radiator with 100% confidence not to have oil in your radiator again. Technically much is aluminum, but it would add oil to the water and possibly not hurt much... it would screw with thermostat eventually. But it would still act like oil and it would float, but I think the system would still function . Water would still flow and radiator will cool ... don't see anything urgent. Also , nobody should have oil in radiator. But if I'm saying if u are on the side of the road. It ain't stopping you from getting home

Seems a little late to consider cleaning the oil out from the cooling system as a type of maintenance or repair.

you're not gonna get it all. but you CAN. it takes a long time but you mix Oxy Clean with water and fill up the cooling system with that. stick a coolant funnel on the radiator and let the car run. the Oxy Clean degreases the entire cooling system. You'll probably have to drain and refill a couple of times to get everything cleaned out. make sure you REPLACE THE BAD PARTS FIRST THOUGH

Step 1: find out why there's oil in the radiator - head gasket, oil cooler... Step 2: repair engine, or install new one. Step 3: install new radiator.

The theory behind this is that oil being lighter than water will separate to the top.

I'm no Automotive Technician... but I am confident as a Carpenter that OIL should never mix with the Radiator Fluid.

i had oil slowly leaking into coolant through the oil cooler on my first car (Opel diesel). Ran fine for like a year, before I saved up for a new cooler.

That definitely cannot be considered cleaning. What happens is that your engine is so destroyed that you mix coolant and oil in industrial quantities.
