Subscribe, like and cook!
Cooking recipe and ingredients:
750 g of wheat flour.
Hi everyone! Thanks for watching!
1 teaspoon of salt.
600 ml of water.
Mix well.
Add water gradually.
Use flour to keep it from sticking together.
We knead the dough well with our hands.
Let's rest for 10 minutes.
Sprinkle some flour.
Divide into 2 parts.
Divide into 16-18 parts.
Repeat after me and you will be successful.
1 cup (200 ml) of melted butter
We slightly enlarge the dough with our hands and put it in the oil.
Cover with cling film and set aside for 1 hour.
Vegetable oil.
Finely chop a bunch of green onions.
Fry until soft.
6-7 boiled eggs.
Salt and pepper to taste.
Mix well.
Let's roll out the dough with our hands.
Add some prepared stuffing.
We fold the dough as in the movie.
Bake in the oven at 200 ° C / 398 ° F for 30-35 minutes.

    Thank you for this beautiful video and for how to make such an old-fashioned comfort food. My father's family was from Texas, and he grew up on biscuits (and cornbread) and always loved them. I grew up all over the U.S., but spent the most time in Washington State. I have retired to rural France. I am currently in the hospital recovering from a hip replacement, but I am looking forward to getting home and being able to do simple daily tasks. I decided to stop drinking alcohol recently. With my new-found time (and money!) and also clarity, I want to begin taking pleasure in the doing of simple activities like walking, gardening, sewing, and cooking. Your channel is an inspiration!

I doubled the recipe since more than 30 people were attending, and I also added cooked sausage to half of the egg and green onion mixture.       Hi Patty, I tried this as well. Maybe my conversions are off. 750 grams of flour = 6 cups flour? I added 600 ml of water. My dough came out sticky and lumply. I can not get is smooth like the video. Did your dough come out smooth?

      I have often seen folk who hail from Pennsylvania and the very place name intrigues me and fills me with wonder as my Grandfather was from there .. He had blind hair and black eyebrows and I often wondered if he was of German or Dutch descent. Sadly. will never know... Nothing to do with the cooking!     Hi, I'm from Indonesia and I think it's fascinating how our ancestor can pass down recipes that is so similar even though we're in thousand miles apart! We have a very similar recipe here in Indo called Martabak Telur/Telor and it's basically the same thing, only we put the dough into oil and then deep fried the dough with egg+meat+spices filling. I'm curious in these baked version though, looks delicious!

      Yes! My Native friends call it "fry bread" & stuff with...whatever they're in the mood for. Usually ground beef. Very delicious.

      I loved reading all the comments and love seeing this simple beloved old family recipe being passed on to others and how cooking can bring us all together. I wonder if baking versus frying breads was a result of whether our ancestors lived in a warm climate versus colder climate since ovens heat up a house so much. Although, there's always outdoor ovens. Hailing from Missouri Ozarks.

      @June Miller it is totally possible to make one without tossing it in the air, although it probably won't be as thin as the original one. Lots of indonesian also used to make a home version of it using a frozen spring roll pastry. It's a smaller version but very practical 🥰

      That is interesting, because one of my favourite things in Indonesia is Martabak, and I was just looking at this thin pastry and thinking how similar it is. I thought I could never make the Indonesian version, because the guys I have seen making it do all that clever tossing in the air without breaking it and I couldn't do that. Also I'm not good at making pastry, but this video shows how to do it in detail and has opened up the possibility for me! I can now try to make a Polish Martabak!

Ни хочу ни кого обидеть, но я так увидила. Женщина взрослая, ручки ухоженные, наверное красотка 🥰 Хочу рассказать вам свою историю о хлебе. Приехала я в деревню к бабушке 27лет назад, в гости из Москвы с пекарни. Так и осталась тут по сей день. Как только вышла замуж начало 90х.тяжело было в селе с хлебом. А я пекла свой. Сложила печку мазанку во дворе (так не большую, какую сумела) и пекла 😁 Люди стали интересоваться, некоторые даже пекли свой хлеб. Со временем жизнь наладилась и многие покупают хлеб! А я так и пеку свой, только теперь в газовой духовке. Всего лишь самого наилучшего Вам, кто читает мой рассказ 🥰Дай Бог чтобы у каждого человека на планете Земля был кусок хлеба 🙏🙏🙏

    I’m living in Scotland now, but I’m from Canada. I’ve even lived in Norway too! Love the looks of this recipe but my stomach does not tolerate onions very well. I might try with a diced chicken breast & cheese maybe, or mashed potatoes & cheese like pirogies.

Je pense qu'avec une compote épaisse de pommes, voire pommes et poires, ananas aussi avec ou sans mangue, ça doit être délicieux, les enfants apprécieraient pour le goûter, je vais en faire pour tester, mais je pense qu'il faudrait faire des fruits en petits morceaux et les caraméliser légèrement, ça serait plus facile à manger, je dirais bien à déguster lol ^^ (approximative translation, I don't speak well english : Good idea that the fruits! I think that with a thick applesauce, even apples and pears, pineapple also with or without mango, it must be delicious, the children would appreciate to taste it, I will make some to test, but I think it should be done fruit in small pieces and caramelize them slightly, it would be easier to eat, I would say good to taste lol ^^.     From Jamaica. Going to try this with sautéed red onions, garlic, sweet baby bell peppers, porta Bella mushrooms, shredded cabbage, fresh thyme leaves and jumbo chopped shrimp with Jamaican Spicy🌶 jerk sauce, now that should have a nice kick !!! Thank you so much for this recipe.

    Thank You! What you are making here has been made for over 200 years in the Southern United States with just a little variation. I am 65 yrs old, and my Grandmother taught me how to make this kind of pastry. My family was from Virginia & Texas from the beginning of this country. I still make my biscuits this way ( but with a little baking powder). I have put eggs into them with sausage and bacon for breakfast too. I think the trick is the real butter! I will make them again since I saw your video and it brings a warm memory of generations past, now gone, but we can feel their spirit when we make their food.       I vividly remember my Texas great grandma making biscuits that sure looked like this preparation - minus the onion and egg, in my case. You mentioned your biscuit technique was similar.     Спасибо за этот интересный рецепт- в нем так много общего между нами: наверное многие для своих пирожков готовят такую же начинку из зелёного лука и яйца, точно так же вымешивают руками тесто.. ну может быть не все помещают эти шарики теста в масляный состав.. Но приятно даже просто смотреть со стороны на эти добрые умелые руки. Спасибо! Я из Владивостока, мне 65 лет, частенько балую своих внучек выпечкой, возьму этот рецепт на заметку.
